Welcome to Blacklight Hill

Don’t make something you’ll hate yourself for.
Two years ago, I’d written down those words as a motto to remind myself.
That phrase came from a letter that I had prepared to release once Blacklight Hill came out. I was only about two months into its concept, but I knew this was going to last. This was it. That letter, however, is not this. I have so many new words, so many new things to say now.
It’s almost beautiful — the world we can craft into existence out of a magic only barely defined by “imagination” in our limited way of language. Though, Blacklight Hill really truly exists.
Blacklight Hill is a real world collection of the stories that have defined our lives and our world.
I have always had a fascination with small town life; rural settings. All of the beauty. From the sprawling beauty of the nature surrounding such places, the small shops so special in their uniqueness, to the strange misconceptions rural folks have on city people…vice-versa. Every aspect of this life is beautiful to me, even the worst.
There’s a story to tell from everywhere. It is heartbreaking how many small towns and settlements in history have been lost from countless factors or situations, and we just don’t know about it. We don’t remember what they’ve brought us...what impact they’ve had on this world. It wasn’t written or archived.
Blacklight Hill is a storybook of all the tales you would only hear from a neighbor’s family sitting around the campfire.
I make this story in the hope that I can honor those that have been lost. Whether it be a society, a settlement, or a person. We do this in honor of you.
Blacklight Hill is a message of love, to all of our future, present, and past selves.
It’s an honor to be working with my friends on this, and their incredibly generous support is so inspiring to me. I am so thankful. To those who allowed me use of a character too—I am very grateful!
I will not say much for the story, so I don’t end up saying something I will regret. I will let the story speak for itself.
I promise to make something that lasts, and I really hope you’ll come along with us on this journey.
Don’t give up on me, I’ll never give up on you!
Now— upon Blacklight Hill!
